MyToday is about being informed and entertained - while you are on the move! It's about having access to information and entertainment as long as you have your mobile with you.
And there's lots that you can get on MyToday. News from around the world. Quick - mobile-friendly web connections to any site on the Internet. Cricket commentary, weather information, movie reviews, TV schedules, city helplines, train timings and more. You can also find jokes, read books, stories, poems, fairy tales, recipes - and more! And all this content is free for you!

Headlines:
This is where you get all the news updates and live updates on BSE and any cricket match that is happening around the world. The Headlines cover all areas - from National news to International, Business, Sports, and Entertainment.
Daily Digest
Here we give you links to some of the best content on the net and introduce features in MyToday that you could find useful. It's a daily dose of what's fun and happening and interesting.
My
It means exactly what is says. It's your page. It has details of your account, your mail, the pages you have bookmarked for later reference, and all the services you have subscribed for - both on mytoday.com and on SMS. Make sure you register to get all the benefits!
Infostreams
Infostreams has streaming information. This information is collected for some of the top sites on the Internet. They are categorized into different sections to make it easier for you to read. Some of these sections include India blogs, fun, photos and technologies. Check it out to see what's happening around the world.
A-Z
This section has the A to Z of all the services on MyToday - starting from City Info to Yellow Pages. If you can think of more services, do let us know - send us your comments by clicking the FEEDBACK link at the bottom of the page on MyToday.mobi or email us at feedback@mytoday.com. Do check each of the services to find out what's useful to you. And do write to us if you feel we could improve somewhere. We know, we need to at lots of places - and we need your help for that.
Search
If you want to search the web, or find the meaning of a word, or check the details of a book, or read a review of a movie, or just see what the encyclopedia or the world says about a particular topic then enter the word in the Search text box and select the search option from the drop down box (options are: web, encyclopedia, dictionary, blogs, movies, books) and click GO! See the results to believe it.
Surf
The Surf option allows you to view any website on the Internet in a mobile-friendly manner (except JS and Flash sites at the moment). Go on - enter a website address and see for yourself how easy it is to check any site on your mobile using mytoday.com!

How do I navigate through MyToday?
The Home Page lists the major sections in MyToday. Use the "More" link to move further within a section. Click "Go Top" to move to the top of the page. To see all features, click the A-to-Z link on the home page, just below the logo. Within each inside page, you'll also notice a Footer section at the bottom. It allows you to reach the Home Page, or Bookmark that page, or send us a Feedback. The line above it has local navigation links.

How do I navigate through the News items?
The news section on MyToday is simply your best, one-stop site for everything happening in the world. The news section has Top News - which shows all the latest news as it happens. Within that, you could see the news by Section (Business, Sports, etc.) or by their actual Source (newspaper or news sites)

How do I navigate through the Library?
The Library has lots of interesting stuff to read. All the content is categorized into sections - for example - Books, Fairy Tales, Jataka Tales, Poems, Jokes etc. Within a section you can see the Latest and the Most Popular titles. You can see all the reading material by Alphabetical order. It's quite simple - just try it a few times and you should get the hang of it.

How do I navigate through Books?
The
Reading Room has some of the best books in World literature. Some of these books run into a lot of chapters. If a chapter is very long, we have divided it into smaller pages so that you can read it easily. For example - a chapter could have 5 or 10 pages. If you want to navigate to the next chapter, you should go the last page and click the Next chapter link. To see all the chapters of the book, you should click "Table of Contents".

How do I use Search?
Search is one of the most powerful features in MyToday. You can enter any word you want and find its result with reference to the Web, the Encyclopedia, the Dictionary, Blogs on the web, Movie reviews, or published Books.

How do I use the Surf option?
Surf makes surfing the web an easier and more pleasant experience. Whenever you type in a valid website address, MyToday technology modifies the site to make it more suitable for mobile reading. The result is a much, much more mobile-friendly experience. Try it once to get addicted!
Login and Registration

How do I login to MyToday?
To login, you should first Register with MyToday. To register, sms

09223050606. We'll send you a password by sms in reply. Use the mobile number from which you sent the SMS and the password to login. You can change the password later after login.

I registered but cannot log in to MyToday!
Check if you are entering the wrong password or mobile number. Make sure your mobile number has 10 digits. Also check that your password is typed exactly as you had entered earlier. If you have forgotten your password, click the Forgot Password link and you'll be able to enter a new password. Also make sure that your browser has cookie support on.

I forgot my login details!
Your login detail consists of your mobile number and password. If you are a confirmed user, then just click the Forgot Password link in the Login screen. You'll receive an SMS which you can click to enter a new password and login again.

How do I change my password?
To change your password, click My Account and click the Change Password link. You'll have to enter your old password and then the new password you want.
Feeds

What are Feeds?
Feeds are automatic updates of content selected by you. For example, you may want to read everything published by "BBC". So you could create a Feed on "BBC". The BBC Feed will update you with everything that BBC publishes. You can create as many Feeds as you want. It's all free!

How do I add a Feed?
You can add a feed to your account in multiple ways:
A. If you have sent "sms START", then you already have a Feed added to your account. To see if you have any Feeds, click My and see within the SMS Folder.
B. You can also add a Feed by clicking the Bookmark link at the bottom of any content you like within the Infostreams section.
C. You can directly add a Feed of your choice, by going to Manage Feeds Link under "My Feeds" and enteriing the Feed Name and Feed(RSS) URL.
D. Soon, you can search for a term, like Cricket, Bollywood to find a feed of your choice and subscribe to it

What is the Recent list in Feeds?
The Recent list contains the latest 5 items from all the Feeds you have. If you want to see more of the latest items, click on the "more" link below it.

How can I read older posts in a feed?
Just below the list of Recent items, you'll find a link called "more" and a number. The number indicates the total number of posts that are unread. You can click the "more" link to view older items. Or, you could click on a Folder name and view posts for each Feed.

How do I manage my Feeds?
Click on the "manage" link under My Feeds in My Account or "Manage Feeds" under "My Feeds". You will see the folder organization of your feeds. You also have the option to add new folders, delete/ rename existing folders. To see the feeds in a folder, click on the Folder. To edit a Feed's settings, click on the Edit option against a feed in the folder. You can also delete feeds from a given folder.

What are Folders?
A folder is a location where you store your Feed. By default, all the feeds you create get stored in the Default folder. All your SMS Subscriptions added via "START" get stored in the SMS Folder by default. But you can create a new folder using the Manage Feeds link and can select the new folder the next time you add a feed. Also you can organize your existing feeds in different folders if required.

What does the Mark All Read link do?
It's a functionality to let you mark all items as read. You can mark all items in all your feeds, a specific folder or only a particular feed source as read. This way, it starts counting afresh whenever a new item appears - and you can always know what you need to read and what you have already read.

What does Send SMS mean?
When you add a feed, you have the option of being alerted every time a new post arrives. Currently you can choose to be alerted by SMS. You can choose not be alerted by SMS. Even if you had selected to be alerted, you can return later and disable the alerts. The SMS alerts are sent to your user name mobile number.

What does Send Email mean?
You can choose to receive email alerts everytime a new post arrives in your Feed. To set your email address, click on "Link me by email" link from My Account. You can always disable Email alerts by unchecking the check-box in Manage Feeds against "Send Email".
Bookmarks and Sharing

Is it possible to save something I like for later?
Absolutely! If you like something that you want to save and read later, just click the Bookmark link at the bottom of that page. You'll see a new page called Add Bookmark. Here, enter a name for the page (keep it short, e.g. "My Recipes"). Then store it in the Folder you like. By default - MyToday provides the "Default" folder. But you can create different folders like Recipe, News, Events, etc.

Bookmarks sound interesting. Can you explain it again!
Bookmarks allow you to save something you'd like to read for later. Instead of having to go to a page again, if you bookmark that page, you can access it directly from the Bookmark section. You can bookmark as many pages as you want. You can bookmark entire books, or specific pages, poems, news, recipes - anything. To make it easier to store multiple bookmarks, you should save bookmarks within folders. You can also delete bookmarks that you don't want. This will keep the list of bookmarks manageable.

How do I share something that I like?
The best way would be to have the person use MyToday :-). But if that's not entirely possible then you could use the SMS/Email link provided at the bottom of the item to forward it to an email address or a GPRS-enabled mobile phone.
My Account

In My Account, I see a Point Balance. What is it?
When you register with us, we give you 30 bonus points. You can eventually use it to buy/ gift content, downloads, etc on MyToday. You can also use it to send SMSs to friends.. Currently there are no avenues for spending your Points, but they'll be coming soon your way. So, stay tuned.
